You are summoned to attend the Full Council meeting on Wednesday 6th March 2024 at 7:30pm at Longden Village Hall.

Agenda

  1. Chairman’s Welcome
    • Public Participation – 15 minutes maximum – To allow members of the public to speak at the Chairman’s discretion.
  2. Apologies – To receive apologies and reasons for absence
  3. Declarations of Interest – In accordance with the Council Code of Conduct members shall withdraw from any discussion or vote in which they hold a disclosable pecuniary interest and update their interests declaration as appropriate.
    • Minutes – To approve the draft minutes of the Parish Council meeting held on 7th February 2024

  1. Highways Safety Projects
    • To receive an update from Highways to the suggested safety projects and review the approved Place Plan projects list (Appendix B)
    • To receive any update from Highways on school barriers
    • Quiet Lanes – to note that the initiative has been paused due to the delay in adoption of the Local Transport Plan by Shropshire Council. This is due to be adopted in summer 2024 after which time the Quiet Lanes policy will be revised/adopted.
  2. Defibrillators –
    • To receive evidence from Cllr Fotheringham on the benefits of defibrillators in the parish.
    • To consider arranging defibrillator training for Hook-a-gate residents
  3. Neighbourhood Plan – To receive and consider a report and recommendations from the Steering Group.

  5. Planning
    • Planning Applications – To consider any planning applications validated since the publication of the agenda.
    • Planning Decisions – To note any planning decisions notified since the publication of the agenda:
  6. Litter Pick –
    • To consider whether to take part in the Great British Spring Clean and to select a suitable area.
    • To consider combining the litter pick with a general village walk-about to identify any issues.
  7. Play Areas:
    • To approve a letter of thanks to a resident for his help with planting trees and hedges at Annscroft Play Area.
    • To consider play area inspections reports and approve any repairs.  (Appendix C)
    • To consider Shropshire Council’s Annual Play Area Inspection Request form for 2024/25                                                      (Appendix D)
    • To consider the principle of installing a path at Annscroft to improve access to play equipment for all abilities.
  8. IT Support – To receive an update on transfer to new email accounts.
  9. Longden Parish Work Plan – To consider a draft schedule of projects and review priorities, resources and timescales for completion. To approve training costs as required                                                                                                   (Appendix E)

  11. Internal Controls Report – To receive a report from the Internal Checker (Cllr Arnold)
  12. Review of the effectiveness of Internal Controls and Confirmation of Internal Auditor Appointment
  13. Portrait of King Charles III – To consider a limited time option to claim an official portrait, free of charge (until 28th March 24)

Members to consider and approve any invoices presented after the publication of the              agenda that are due for payment.

  • Bank Transfer – To retrospectively approve a transfer of £5,000 from Business Instant Access Account to Treasurer’s Account to cover payments due.
  • Bank Reconciliation – To approve the bank reconciliation (to follow)
  • Bank Correspondence – To note that the registered address for the council’s Lloyds accounts has been updated and an old signatory removed.
