Two new defibrillators have been installed in the parish, bringing the total number managed by Longden parish council to five.

The new units are located at the Red Lion Public House and on the footpath in Annscroft village.

We are extremely grateful to the residents of Longden Common who got together to raise a donation of £1,280 to buy the defibrillator and cabinet and to the pub for allowing us to connect the cabinet to their electricity supply.

The Annscroft unit took a little longer to organise as we had to obtain permission to take a power supply from the VAS sign and install a new post to mount the cabinet on.

Both defibrillators will be registered with the ambulance service and in an emergency residents should contact the ambulance service who will advise them how to access and use the machine.  The defibrillators can be used by anybody, with or without training but we have organised a free training session on 28th October to give people confidence and familiarity with CPR and defibrillators.  Please contact the parish clerk on clerk@longdenparishcouncil.gov.uk  if you wish to sign up.Defibrillator cabinet on wall of the Red Lion Pub in Longden CommonDefibrillator cabinet
