Shropshire Council has started work on the traffic calming measures in Longden. They are still waiting for some key equipment so the scheme will not be completed during half-term but the disruptive road closures are being carried out whilst the roads are quieter.
Connect On-Demand Bus Service Roadshows and free trials have been announced for the new service that will replace the 544 and 546 services in December. Passengers can ask questions at the roadshows and take advantage of a free trial during the times shown on the poster.
A rolling road closure of the C5150 Shrewsbury Road is planned between Annscroft and Longden Common from 30th Oct to 1st November to replace the lining on the carriageway. The road will be closed in sections and gatemen will be stationed at either end of the closed sections to advise on access.
A new on-demand bus service will be launched by Shropshire Council on 4th December 2023. The service will replace the 544 (Shrewsbury to Lyth Hill) and 546 (Shrewsbury to Pulverbatch) Arriva services. (Article by Cllr R Evans)
