You are summoned to attend the Full Council meeting on Wednesday 5th February 2025 at 7:30pm at Longden Village Hall.

  1. Chairman’s Welcome
    • Police report
    • Public Participation – 15 minutes maximum – To allow members of the public to speak at the Chairman’s discretion.
  2. Apologies – To receive apologies and reasons for absence
  3. Declarations of Interest – In accordance with the Council Code of Conduct members shall withdraw from any discussion or vote in which they hold a disclosable pecuniary interest and update their interests’ declaration as appropriate.
  4. Minutes –
    • To approve the draft minutes of the Full Council meeting held on 8th January 2025

  1. Planning
    • Planning Applications – To consider the following planning applications and any validated since the publication of the agenda. (N.B. Any new applications will be posted on the parish council website prior to the meeting).

    • Planning Decisions – To note the following planning decisions and any validated since the publication of the agenda:
    • Local Plan Review – To consider the implications of the Planning Inspectors’ letter to Shropshire Council, including the likely delay of adoption until 2026.
    • Neighbourhood Plan – To receive and update and note date of the next steering committee meeting is Monday 10th February 2025 at the Red Lion PH. To note proposed drop-in consultation date of Thursday 27th
  2. Nature Recovery Strategy
    • To receive a report from a resident on the recent Local Nature Recovery Strategy Workshop
    • To approve a social media campaign and online survey to raise awareness and identify volunteers to join a working group to develop a Nature Recovery Strategy for the Parish (draft attached)
  3. Celebration of VE Day– 80th Anniversary – To consider whether the Council wishes to participate in the commemorative activities planned for the summer (See Clerk’s Report)
  4. Royal Garden Parties – See Clerk’s Report
  5. Defibrillators
    • Longden Defibrillator – Approval given to relocate to Tankerville Arms / village shop
    • Longden Common Defibrillator – Awaiting connection to power supply
  6. Play Areas:
    • Annscroft Play Area –
      • To receive a progress report for Green Spaces & Active Travel fund application for path (P Carter) and consider how to maximise support and pledges for the project
      • No Mow May – To consider a suggestion that a portion of the field is left unmown during May to support biodiversity
      • To consider the creation of a wildflower meadow on part of Annscroft field to support nature recovery (see attached report)
      • To review the grass cutting contract and consider whether to renew the contract (price increase notified) or seek alternative quotes.
