You are summoned to attend the Full Council meeting on Wednesday 5th March 2025 at 7:30pm at Longden Village Hall.

  1. Chairman’s Welcome
    • Public Participation – 15 minutes maximum – To allow members of the public to speak at the Chairman’s discretion.
  2. Apologies – To receive apologies and reasons for absence
  3. Declarations of Interest – In accordance with the Council Code of Conduct members shall withdraw from any discussion or vote in which they hold a disclosable pecuniary interest and update their interests’ declaration as appropriate.
  4. Minutes –
    • To approve the draft minutes of the Full Council meeting held on 5th February 2025

  1. Planning
    • Planning Applications – To consider the following planning applications and any validated since the publication of the agenda. (N.B. Any new applications will be posted on the parish council website prior to the meeting).
      • 25/00572/FUL 1 Coppice Gate, Lyth Hill, SY3 0BT; Proposal:  Erection of single storey rear extension and garage conversion, raised terrace and parking

    • Planning Decisions – To note the following planning decisions and any validated since the publication of the agenda:
    • Local Plan Review – To note any update
    • Neighbourhood Plan – To receive an update from drop-in consultation on 27th February and the next steering committee meeting, to be held on Monday 3rd March 2025 at the Red Lion PH.
  2. Village Hall Land Registration – To consider a request by a resident that the Parish Council assist the Village Hall Committee to register the land and appoint a Custodian Trustee to hold the deeds.
  3. Highways Safety – To receive a report on a meeting with SC Traffic engineers re Longden traffic safety improvements.
  4. Local Council Elections – To note the deadline for receipt of nominations is 4pm on 2nd April 2025 and other key dates.
  5. Nature Recovery Strategy –
    • To receive a report on progress (survey on website & social media)
    • To consider sending a representative to attend the Middle Marches Land Trust conference at Norbury Hill on 28th March 2025
  6. Celebration of VE Day– 80th Anniversary – To consider any grant applications or proposals from community groups
    • Defibrillators – To retrospectively approve the replacement of pads due to expire in February and March at Longden and Hook-a-gate and approve replacement of Lyth Hill pads which expire in April 2025 (£53.00 & VAT per set)

    • Annscroft Play Area –
      • To note that pledges have started to be made in support of the Green Spaces & Active Travel fund application for a new path and consider how to maximise support and pledges for the project
    • Longden Play Area –

    • Payments for approvalTo authorise expenditure (payments list to follow)

    • Reserves transfers –
      • To approve transfer of £588.55 from CIL reserve to general fund to cover purchase of Longden noticeboard
      • To approve establishment of an Earmarked Reserve for uncollected streetlight electricity costs, (recommend £2,000).
    • Internal Controls – To receive a report from Cllr P Arnold on internal controls check undertaken in February (record attached)
